The mademoiselle’s of CAARA was a commission 

for a restaurant (CAARA) based in New Delhi.

 

These pieces were created according to a brief discussed with the client so that there would be a seamless blend between the art and the restaurants aesthetics.

 

CONCEPT NOTE:

The CAARA Mademoiselles

 

It’s the year 1901 ...

 

Queen Victoria is dead, it’s the dawn of the Edwardian Era.

 

Meanwhile, in fashionable Paris, the Metro and a new style of hats are both inaugurated, to the delight of the nine best friends who are the toast of Parisian high society.

 

Each is fitted in the latest styles, and wears her family’s profession like a feather in their hats!

 

They come from families that enjoy the best of gourmet foods...

 

They adore dark chocolate truffles, freshly baked breads, artisanal cheese, handmade pasta and indulgent desserts.

 

Which is why you’ll find them on the new Metro every Saturday, on their way to CAARA, their favourite place to dine. 

 

They delight in the food lovingly made from the freshest and finest of ingredients, 

while they animatedly discuss upcoming balls...or maybe exchange a glance or a few words with those who make their hearts flutter...
